“Musk Is A Modern-Day Robber Baron” – Robert Reich

Just two months after being called hypocrite on Twitter by US. Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, in a tweet that went viral,

What a hypocrite. Elon Musk has received billions in corporate welfare from U.S. taxpayers. Now he wants to stop 30 million Americans who lost jobs from receiving $600 a week in unemployment benefits, while his wealth has gone up by $46.7 billion over the past 4 months. Pathetic.

Elon Musk is under attack again, but this time, by Robert Reich, a Berkeley professor and former Secretary of Labor.

Tesla forced all workers to take a 10 percent pay cut from mid-April until July. In the same period, Tesla stock skyrocketed and CEO Elon Musk’s net worth quadrupled from $25 billion to over $100 billion.

Musk is a modern-day robber baron.

Tesla CEO replied him by saying “All Tesla workers also get stock, so their compensation increased proportionately.” he ended the response with a “You are a modern day moron.“

A Tesla employee “Daniel James” defended his Boss by saying “I joined Tesla less than six months ago and the value of my Tesla RSUs is enough to pay off my entire student debt.” He asks anybody to find him another boss that does that for his employees.

Daniel continues” “Robert Reich spent the pandemic fighting to keep Berkeley from putting affordable housing too close to his mansion so he could keep his home price inflated. He is exactly the predatory crony capitalist he pretends to denounce.”

I guess this will be a trend for a while.In May, California assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez told Elon Musk Fuck You on twitter in response to the Tesla CEO Elon Musk’ threat of taking Tesla Headquarter and future programs out of California. Elon Musk is now a Robber Baron.
